All High School Seniors Will Have Opportunity to Enroll University

In a session closed to the media, held last week, the Government of Albanian decided to increase the entry quotas for Albanian Universities by approximately 25 percent. Also, the Government decided to increase the amounts of tuition fees for students of public universities.

The total of 26,845 students will be admitted for 2005/2006 school year. This year, 26,209 high school students will graduate from the secondary schools in Albania, and the universities will have openings for all of them.

The quotas for this year also include the newly established Universities in Durres, Fier and Berat.

The Government has sent the tuition fees at 10,000 Lek per year of study, which will progressively decrease in later years of study, to 7,000 Lek for third year, and 2,500 Lek for students in the final year of studies.
