Research on Social and Economic Status of High School Students

From May 20 to June 15, 2005, the Union of High School Students of Serbia and the Centre for Youth Motivation and Activism conducted a survey on the social and economic status of high school students in Belgrade.

The survey was conducted under the auspices of the “Learn and Get Involved – High School Students for Themselves” project, implemented by the Union and financed by the European Union through the EAR in cooperation with the European Movement in Serbia.

The survey is the first of its kind, having in mind that the questions in the poll included various aspects of high school students’ daily life: school life, extracurricular activities, to living conditions.

The survey also touched the subject of education reforms – to what extent are the students familiar with the Bologna Declaration, its importance and meaning, its significance in terms of recognition of university diplomas from Serbia abroad?

The survey was conducted on a sample of 650 students from four secondary schools in Belgrade.
