“Svetla Vizija” association of unemployed citizens discovered a number of Articles that are not in compliance with the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia and are directed against the dignity of the working class.
”Articles 53 and 99, which regulate the employment of household help and the trial employment period are, to put it mildly, humiliating and take us back to the times of slavery”, claims “Svetla Vizija”.
According to the Association, these articles violate the rights guaranteed rights from Article 8 of the Constitution (Paragraph 8, which covers human dignity, social justice and solidarity, and Paragraph 11 which refers to the provisions of the international law), as well as as Articles 11 and 32, which guarantee the phisical and moral integrity of the citizens and the basic labour rights, respectively.
The proposed legislation is also in violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Articles 23 to 25.
”Svetla Vizija” started an initiative with the Parliament of Macedonia, for introduction of five amendments to these two articles of the Draft-Labour Law, as well as a completely new article to regulate the employment of persons with disabilities.
