Egyptian IDPs in Rozaje Appeal for Urgent Assistance

Internally displaced Egyptians living in Rozaje, Montenegro appealed today on national and local governments, NGOs and all other competent institutions for immediate assistance.

“This is our last call. We are living at the edge of poverty, don’t receive any kind of support, and there is no possibility for us to get a job. Is there anyone that should pay attention to us in Montenegro”? the Egyptians stated in their call for help signed by their representatives Feka Florin, Sabani Agron and Imer Zikolai.

They say that approximately 17 families are financing their own accommodation, which costs them over 150 EUR monthly, when they include the electricity and water bills. The food, clothing and medical care expenses are not included in that amount.

“There is no possibility for our children to go to school, it is difficult to live here but we cannot return to Kosovo”, said some of the Egyptians.

Egyptians also added that four families that returned to Kosovo are back here after six months and find themselves in an extremely difficult situation. They also asked for Brian Hoytt Yee, the American Consul in Montenegro, to visit their community.
