Premiere of “Lean on Me” Theatrical Play

Save the Children Norway, in cooperation with UNICEF B&H, conducted a survey on trafficking in children in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of the activities of the project is the “Lean on Me” theatrical play, written by Bosnian writer Ferida Durakovic. The roles in the play are acted by child-actors younger than 15.

The first night of the play will be held this coming Friday, May 26, in Konjic, at the “Pivnica” restaurant. The performance will be followed by a discussion on joint action designed to prevent child trafficking.

The play will be performed in the elementary schools of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Doboj Region, with the goal to inform the children and adults about issues related to child trafficking and the mechanisms for protection.

Save the Children Norway, Sarajevo Regional Office, subcontracted the implementation of the “Prevention of Child Trafficking and Child Abuse” Project to the Konjic Centre for Children Rights. The Centre, in cooperation with “Buducnost” civic association from Modrica, plan to include the whole territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the project.
