New Web-Site for the Reka Region

The Centre for Contemporary Arts promoted the new internet site www.reka.org.mk, at the press conference held today at the NGO InfoCentre in Skopje. The web-site is dedicated to the Reka Region in Western Macedonia. The meadows of Bistra Mountain www.reka.org.mk was designed as a tool for national and international presentation and promotion of the Reka Region, its cultural, ethnological, natural and economic potential. It offers information on the past, present and the future of Reka, on about 100 pages of text, covering variety of fields (history, customs, old crafts, traditional architecture, etc). The web-site also offers possibility to learn more about the natural beauty, tourist potential, folk poetry, traditional cuisine, and accomodation capacities in the region. The underwater church of St. Nicholas in Mavrovo Lake. All texts are offered in Macedonian and English languages. This web-presentation is part of the Small Traditions – Great Values, implemented by the Centre for Contemporary Arts, under its programme for cultural development of rural regions in Macedonia. The logistics for the project are provided by MEC Rekanski Biser and “Bistra” civic association from Rostuse.
