Zharreze Announces Protests over Government Plan to Construct Hazardous Waste Site

The citizens of Zharreze commune reacted against the Government’s decision of three days ago to turn the area into a hazardous waste storage site. The citizens of the community see this decision as a death sentence hanging over them, brought about by the very representatives they elected to solve their problems.

The area, already heavily polluted by oil residue, was seen by the officials as a perfect “grave” to burry the cyanide residues, disregarding the fact that the cyanide will in turn burry the inhabitants of the are. They thought it was a simple solution, just send the problem where nobody would speak up.

The citizens, however, threaten to start protests and use all legal means available to them if the decision is actually implemented.
