“Partner”, Banja Luka based humanitarian organization, started a campaign for support to the disabled persons in the area of Prijedor, under the moto “I can’t stand on my feet, by I think – ergo, I am”. The goal of the campaign is to enable these people to lead autonomous lives and have a say when choosing their education and employment.

”The campaign includes humanitarian, healthcare and social support to disabled persons and their families. The support will be provided through the Personal Assistance Service, which will employ well educated personnel, capable of providing all necessary assistance to the disabled persons”, says Dejana Vujnovic, the Coordinator of Prijedor’s Personal Assistance Service.

She emphasizes that everybody have to go through the necessary training for this type of work, including the disabled themselves.

This type of assistance is quite common in the developed countries, and it enables the disabled persons to lead autonomous lives outside any institution.

The funding, as planned, should be provided through donations and contributions campaign. The fundraising campaign should be completed by June 30, after which the Prijedor Personal Assistance Service will be officially opened.
