Real Needs and Capacities of the Youth

On the occasion of the Global Youth Service Day, April 18, a public debate was held in Krizevci, on the subject of “Real Needs and Capacities of Krizevci Youth”. The “Youth Associations in Krizevci” brochure was presented at the debate. Later in the day, the Project “Youth in the Town Council” was presented in the Krizevci Town Hall.

The ”Youth Associations in Krizevci” Brochure was prepared as cooperative effort of K.V.A.R.K., P.O.I.N.T., Friends of the Animals, Safehouse and UKE, on the initiative of UKE, with the goal to present the existence and the work of these associations to the Krizevci public.

The brochure was published through UKE, under the auspices of the ’15:9 Now Recording’ project, dedicated to youth inclusion in the process of local decision-making in B&H, Croatia and SCG.

Tomislav Tomasevic, President of Croatian Youth Network, talked about the National Youth Action Plan and the positive examples of youth councils actions. The Head of Office for Social Activities of the Krizevci Municipality, Davor Balic, commended the youth initiatives in Krizevci and emphasized that, after the coming local elections, the Town Council will support and promote the establishment of youth council.

The other project presented yesterday at the Town Hall, Youth in Town Councils is implemented in Zagreb, Vukovar (as district seat and town in a area under special care of the state) and Krizevci (as non-district centre). The goal of the project is to create a link between the high school students on one side, and the youth associations and local authorities on the other side.
