MOST Name Abused in the Election Campaign

Darko Aleksov and Slavica Biljarska from MOST announce criminal charges.
Darko Aleksov and Slavica Biljarska from MOST announce criminal charges.
The MOST Civic Association presented the Code of Conduct in Free and Fair Local Elections, developed by the National Democratic Institute, in cooperation with the political parties in Macedonia. The Code was accepted and signed by 32 presidents of political parties and three independent candidates running in the Local Elections.

At the same time, MOST informed about the distribution of a leaflet in Ilinden Municipality, which presents a part of a public opinion poll allegedly conducted by MOST. Most denies any involvement in the public opinion poll or the resulting leaflet.

The poll, according to MOST, is a classic case of fraud and abuse of the name and the logo of the association. MOST representatives announced criminal charges for forgery and abuse of the name and professional status of the association.

In MOST they are adamant that the association never conducted a survey of any kind, and if was not involved, whatsoever, in naming alleged favourites for any office, having in mind that it goes well out of the competences and the scope of work of the association.

MOST invited the citizens to report any future abuse of the name or the logo of the association at the toll free phone line 080 080 080, or at some of its 19 field offices.
