A group of young intellectuals and artists (painters, writers, musicians), athletes, former political activists and other prominent actors and enthusiasts were gathered by Mr. Mirsad Kandic, and on June 24, 2002, they established the Bosniac Association “Oaza”, a non-governmental organization with the mission to develop and promote civil society with special emphasis on improvement of Bosniac community’s integration into the new Kosovo reality.

During the five years of its existence, the organization has implemented a series of projects that included infrastructure, advocacy and capacity building.

Bosniac association “Oaza” is involved in numerous activities. However, the journalistic project implemented in cooperation with “Mediawest” Association, was the first of its kind conducted in the municipality for members of Bosniac community.

OWPSEE talked to Sahit Kandic, OAZA'a president, to discuss the organization, its goals, aims and activities.
