Volunteering is work without pay; the branch of philanthropy in which time replaces cheque book. But what type of work? Herein lies much confusion. In the UK, volunteering opportunities range from “defence of the realm” to chauffering tennis superstars to Wimbledon. The word “volunteer” is a victim of the slippery english language, its meaning changing over time at ever-increasing speed as politicians borrow its virtues and as Americans grapple with its unpoetic derivative forms. 11.06.2008 In its 20th Session of May 9, 2008, the National Parliament of the Republic of Srpska adopted the Draft-Law on Volunteering. The Draft will not be submitted for public debate, and the final Draft should be addopted in September or October this year.

18.04.2008 The Government of the Republic of Srpska adopted yesterday the Draft-Law on Volunteering. Over the coming months, it is expected to organize a series of public debates on the Draft and all interested citizens and organizations are invited to take part in the process.
