A recent study by a consultancy firm in India notes a drop in English language online browsing to 41% among its 30 million net users. More than half the Indians who use the net live outside its metropolitan cities, in Tier II and Tier III cities. The use of Open Source Software has helped internet and telecom penetration into smaller towns.

In the resolution (2006/46) passed on 28 July 2006, entitled ÂFollow-up to the World Summit on the Information Society and review of the Commission on Science and Technology for DevelopmentÂ, ECOSOC indicated how it will oversee the system-wide follow-up of the Summit outcomes, as requested in the Tunis outputs. This is in the context of the annual consideration by ECOSOC of the integrated and coordinated implementation and follow-up of major United Nations conferences.

Selama ini, dana penanggulangan AIDS secara nasional masih tergantung pada donor asing. Bantuan asing mencapai 70%, sedangkan dana nasional hanya 30%. Komposisi ini dinilai timpang dan rentan. KPA pun memasang target membalik komposisinya.

The third World Electronic Media Forum (WEMF3) will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 10-11 December 2007. The meeting is expected to attract broadcast executives, policy makers, academics, journalists, visionaries and decision makers from around the world. KOTHMALE, Jun 4 (IPS) - In this tea-growing hill country, about 150 km from Colombo, a state-run community radio station is creating harmony among the country's Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim ethnic groups by broadcasting from the villages and opening up the airwaves to people's participation.
