The Zelena akcija (Green Action) environmental organization and Right to a City initiative submitted yesterday, November 27, a City of Zagreb Transport and Traffic Policy to the City Assembly, with an appeal to vote against the proposed changes in the General Urban Plan that would allow for construction of new public garages in Lower City (Donji grad).

The GONG civic association says that the elections for the Croatian Sabor proceeded in tolerant and democratic atmosphere, on basis of reports of their monitors and anonymous reports by citizens. However, GONG received a number of reports of election violations, especially from members of national minorities and the ballot process in BiH.

Only SDP and HSS responded to the initiative presented by Zelena Akcija to present their views on the Green Declaration, sent to all political parties represented in the Croatian Sabor (the Parliament) on November 12, on behalf of the Green Forum, national network of 37 environmental associations.

Almost 85 percent of the citizens polled for the survey Unknown EU Uncovered – Guide to the Labyrinth of Key Regulations the Influence Gender Discrimination in Our Lives is aware of discrimination of women in contemporary Croatian society, representatives of B.a.B.e. Women Human Rights Group said in Sibenik, last Monday, November 20, at the presentaiton of the survey, organized together with the Government’s Office of Gender Equality.

Environmental protection association gathered in the Committee for Protection of Citizens from Industrial Pollution has maintained contact with the European Green Party and MPs in the European Parliament, on issues related to environmental pollution in Croatia. The cooperation has intensified over the past several months, due to frequent incident in Croatia, like leaks in Sisak and Karlovac.
