17.04.2008 The non-governmental organizations failed in their intent to collect 450,000 signatures for the petition to call for referendum on Croatian membership in NATO. After two weeks of petition signing, they managed to collect slightly over 150,000 signatures.

15.04.2008 After the Government of Croatia sent the Draft-Law on Changes and Amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest to be adopted by the Sabor (Croatian Parliament) in an urgent procedure, the Partnership for Social Development points out at a series of omissions in the process of preparation of amendments and the contents of the proposed changes.

31.03.2008 The campaign to collect signatures by Croatian citizens for the petition to call for referendum that will ask the question Do you want for Croatia to Join NATO started on Saturday, April 29. On the first day, over 15,000 citizens signed the petition.

27.03.2008 The ad hoc AIA (anti-imperialist action) civic initiative organizes protests on April 4, during the visit by U.S. President George Bush to Croatia.

25.03.2008 On Saturday, March 22, 2008, about 1,000 activists from 15 European countries attempted a non-violent invasion on NATO Headquarters in Brussels, with the aim to close it down. About 500 activists were arrested during the action, with 50 to 70 of them making it over the fence into the HQ grounds.

18.03.2008 The Eko Kvarner environmental association estimates that the suspension of application of ZERP (Protective Environmental and Fishing Area) adopted last Sunday, March 16, will lead to serious deterioration of environmental safety in the Adriatic.

13.03.2008 Whole of Croatia follows carefully the start of the trial in the Hague Tribunal of three Croatian generals for the crimes committed in the Storm Military Offensive in 1995. Over the next two years of the trial, many details about the offensive are expected to be uncovered.

11.03.2008 The Eko Kvarner environmental association believes that the Croatian public has not been properly informed that the expected suspension of implementation of fishing component in the Protective Environmental and Fishing Area (ZERP) for EU member-states will undoubtedly lead to an environmental disaster in the Adriatic.
