14.05.2008 Zorislav Antun Petrović, President of Transparency International Croatia says a chanced was missed to completely solve the issue of conflict of interest in the proposed changes and amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest, primarily in terms of its effective implementation.

06.05.2008 Croatian manufacturer of electric installations and equipment Končar decided to develop its own wind-turbine and build a big wind-farm power plant in Pometeno Brdo, in Dalmatia, for future reference for possible export deals.

22.04.2008 The Union of State and Local Administration (SDLSN) of the Republic of Croatia proposes that the social dialogue between the Government and the administration trade unions should also include representatives of the nongovernmental organizations and academic community.

21.04.2008 On the occasion of the 30th Earth Day, a number of activities are planned to take place all over Croatia, involving a number of nongovernmental associations and Government institutions. The focus of the Croatian events will be put on the problem of waste disposal and recycling.

17.04.2008 The non-governmental organizations failed in their intent to collect 450,000 signatures for the petition to call for referendum on Croatian membership in NATO. After two weeks of petition signing, they managed to collect slightly over 150,000 signatures.

15.04.2008 After the Government of Croatia sent the Draft-Law on Changes and Amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest to be adopted by the Sabor (Croatian Parliament) in an urgent procedure, the Partnership for Social Development points out at a series of omissions in the process of preparation of amendments and the contents of the proposed changes.

31.03.2008 The campaign to collect signatures by Croatian citizens for the petition to call for referendum that will ask the question Do you want for Croatia to Join NATO started on Saturday, April 29. On the first day, over 15,000 citizens signed the petition.

27.03.2008 The ad hoc AIA (anti-imperialist action) civic initiative organizes protests on April 4, during the visit by U.S. President George Bush to Croatia.
