Miomir Mugosa, Mayor of Podgorica
10.05.2005 On May 9, MANS submitted a Request for review of the Decisions adopted by the Commission on Conflict of Interests in the cases involving Miomir Mugosa, the Mayor of Podgorica, and Slobodan Lekovic, the Chairperson of the Commission. MANS also requested that public debate is organized on both initiatives, on the bases of Article 24 of the Rules of Procedures of the Commission on Conflict of Interest, with obligatory presence by both Mugosa and Lekovic.

Roma education programmes
10.05.2005 The Unified Action Plan for Inclusion of Roma in the System of Education was presented yesterday in Belgrade. Approximately 80 percent of Roma in Serbia is fully or functionally illiterate, two thirds have not completed even elementary school, and only one fifth of Roma children are included in the education system.

Displaced find themselves in a tough situation in SCG
09.05.2005 The displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija in Serbia and Montenegro find themselves in the most serious position of all persons forced to leave their homes, and their basic human rights have been suspended, says the Group 484 in its “Report on the Rights of Forced Migrants 2004”.

HIV/AIDS
09.05.2005 The Day of Remembrance of Persons who died of AIDS will be observed in Serbia and Montenegro on May 15. This is the first time SCG will observe the day, and the activities will be accompanied by a media campaign “You Can Live with AIDS Nowadays”. The latest estimates set the number of people infected with HIV at more than 10,000, with more than 800 AIDS related deaths over the past two decades.
