22.03.2007 The YUCOM committee of human rights lawyers of Serbia won its first litigation against the state of Serbia in front of the European Court for Human Rights.

13.03.2007 Two thirds (65%) of persons polled for the public opinion survey organized by Labris Organization for Lesbian Human Rights said they have experienced violence motivated by their sexual orientation. Only ten percent of them reported the violence to the authorities, says the annual US Department of State 2006 Human Rights Report on Serbia.

13.03.2007 The Millennium Centre for Civil Society Development published Future of Civil Society, a book of speeches by assassinated Prime Minister Djindjic, his essays on conditions in the civil society, but also texts and essays by Vukasin Pavlovic from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Zoran Stojiljkovic and Srecko Mihajlovic from the Social Sciences Institute.

08.03.2007 B92 Radio’s Pescanik show, prepared by Svetlana Lukic and Svetlana Vukovic, won the 2006 Award Presented by Reporters Sans Frontiers – Austria.

02.03.2007 Within it’s activities for promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility, the Smart Collective, together with a number of leading companies in Serbia, initiated the creation of database that would cover studies of cases related to socially responsible activities of companies in Serbia.

27.02.2007 After the ruling of the International Court of Justice that Serbia can not be held responsible for the genocide that took place in B&H, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights demands from state officials to present all the facts as determined by the judgment and to not bring into question the victims of genocide.

22.02.2007 In a blatant attempt to intimidate advocates of a peaceful solution to the Serbia-Kosovo conflict, a leading Serbian nationalist newspaper has called for the prosecution of the Women’s Peace Coalition, a joint initiative of women activists, for advocating for the independence of Kosovo.

19.02.2007 The Antifascist Action Novi Sad published an analysis of social-political and aesthetic discourse of new clerical and orthodox strategies “Criticism of Clericalization of Serbia”.

15.02.2007 To mark this years V-Day, the Belgrade’s Anti Trafiking Centre organizes a screening of World VDay: Until the Violence Stops, film by Abby Epstein, today, February 15, at the REX Cinema, at 19:00 hours. ATC will also screen a recording of last year’s performance of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues at last years V-Day celebrations.
