Two thirds (65%) of persons polled for the public opinion survey organized by Labris Organization for Lesbian Human Rights said they have experienced violence motivated by their sexual orientation. Only ten percent of them reported the violence to the authorities, says the annual US Department of State 2006 Human Rights Report on Serbia.

The Millennium Centre for Civil Society Development published Future of Civil Society, a book of speeches by assassinated Prime Minister Djindjic, his essays on conditions in the civil society, but also texts and essays by Vukasin Pavlovic from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Zoran Stojiljkovic and Srecko Mihajlovic from the Social Sciences Institute.

After the ruling of the International Court of Justice that Serbia can not be held responsible for the genocide that took place in B&H, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights demands from state officials to present all the facts as determined by the judgment and to not bring into question the victims of genocide.

In a blatant attempt to intimidate advocates of a peaceful solution to the Serbia-Kosovo conflict, a leading Serbian nationalist newspaper has called for the prosecution of the Women’s Peace Coalition, a joint initiative of women activists, for advocating for the independence of Kosovo.
