The Council of Europe (CoE) and the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday reminded BiH authorities that the existence of 54 “two schools under one roof” is a blatant violation of the obligation BiH agreed to when joining the CoE, to eliminate “all aspects of segregation and discrimination based upon ethnic origins”.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the UN World Youth Programme, the Youth Information Agency OIA will prepare a report on the implementation of the Programme in Bosnian and Herzegovina. In Autumn of 2005, the UN General Assembly will hold a special session dedicated to the analysis of the level to which individual countries have implemented the agreed point from the Youth Programme.

Fourty five Tuzla families are returning to their houses reconstructed within the first phase of “SUTRA” project. The final ceremony marking the success of this activity took place today. The total cost of housing and infrastructure in Tuzla within the first phase of SUTRA stands close to 836,000 KM.

Since February 2004, the Centre for Legal Assistance in the Fight Against Corruption, operated by Transparency International B&H, has received over 3,500 complaints on its toll-free number 0800 55555.

A public campaign was announced in the Republic of Srpska, inviting the citizens to provide information on the whereabouts of the war crimes suspects. The campaign, titled “To the Hagua with Them or to Hell with Us”, is implemented by the RS Government, in agreement with international organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The new Youth Resource Centre was officially opened in Prijedor yesterday. The Centre will provide the youth with a gathering place, a facility in which they can realize their ideas through actual projects, win support and education in a variety of fields, get information and entertainment.

The first PYAF! Fair of Youth Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Prijedor, March 25-26. The Fair was organized by Youth Partnership Programme – POP B&H and the Manifest Urban Initiative from Prijedor.

Almost a year ago, the construction of the ‘Roma House’ started in Prijedor, through a joint effort of the Government of Republic of Srpska and municipal administration. Although it was a prefabricated building thta should have been finished long time ago, and in spite of the fact that it was officially opened on December 10, 2004, the house is not yet ready for people to move in.

The “Networking Fair” was organized in Tuzla on March 18, under the auspices of a Project of the Referent Group Tuzla, “NGO Sector Development through Support to the Establishment of Functional NGO Networks in B&H”, supported by the European Commision Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
