Bosnia and Herzegovina again applied to the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. This year, B&H seeks 14,199,487 US dollars for the planned activities in the 2006-2010 period.

The Economic Policy Planning and Implementation Unit (EPPU) of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the UNDP B&H, the Swiss Cooperation and Development Agency, the DFID and teh World Bank, host the Round Table discussion on poverty reduction, held yesterday and today in Sarajevo.

A group of 24 journalism students from across Bosnia-Herzegovina were the first to participate in the seminar entitled "Reporting from the BiH State Parliamentary Assembly". This seminar involved a series of lectures regarding ethics and self-regulation in journalism and specifically, the practice of reporting from a parliamentary press gallery.

The City of Prijedor, through the Local Democracy Agency, got another important partner in the strengthening of the civil society when it signed the Agreement on Cooperation with the Pensioners Trade Union of Friulli Venezia Guilia Region in Italy. The direct result of the newly agreed cooperation will be the construction of Senior Citizens Home in Rizvanovici, a returnee settlement in Prijedor.

Dragoljub Davidovic, the Mayor of Banja Luka, signed an a Contract on Construction Works for the building of the Cultural-Information Centre with Library for Persons with Impaired Vision in Banja Luka. The actual works on the facility, first of its kind in the Republic of Srpska, are expected to start soon.
