More than 130 young persons of different profiles from BiH and diasphora have applied to taka part in the project “Model of BiH Council of Ministers. After the applications are examinaed, the best candidates will be enabled to attend three month internship in BiH state-level ministries.

The Youth Initiative for Human Rights YIHR conducted a survey “Reporting on Kosovo in Serbian Print Media”. The survey included the most influential daily newspapers and weekly magazines in Belgrade and Novi Sad.

Members of the first contingent of peacekeeping police officers from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) finished their basic training last month and joined the operation of the UN Stabilisation Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).

Srdjan Dizdarevic, President of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in B&H, said that 2004 was marked by the verbal commitment by B&H authorities to the Euro-Atlantic integrations. On the other hand, Bosnia and Herzegovina visibly lags behind the neighbouring countries.

The “Friends of Kopacki Rit” environmental association, condemned the refusal by the Government of Croatia to proclaim the Kopacki Rit nature park into a National Park. They said at the press conference held last Friday that the Government “decided on the bases of misinfomration”.

UNMIK and the PISG began the drafting of a report under the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. This follows from the Technical Agreement signed last summer between the SRSG Søren Jessen-Petersen and the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe.
