Sanjin Bužo, member of OWPSEE team and experienced human rights and social justice activists in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Southeast Europe, was arrested during the protests last Wednesday, February 13, in front of the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo. Provoked by diverse interpretations of the information surrounding his arrest, Bužo addressed the media and the general public with a public statement, with the aim to clear up certain muted points and accusations against him. The Disciplinary Commission of the High Judicial Council of B&H declared Vlado Adamovic, Judge of the B&H Court, responsible of behaviour unbecoming a Judge of the highest court in the country and detrimental to his office, and removed him from his position.

Protests against the deteriorating security and street crime situation in Sarajevo that started last Saturday, and directly provoked by the brutal murder of 17-year old Denis Mrnjavac, continued yesterday, in front of the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo, with demands for Mayor Semiha Borovac and Cantonal Prime Minister Semir Silajdjic to resign from their positions.

The Vukovar District Court ruled that Damir Fintic, administrator of the vukovarac.net web-site, shall pay an amount of 71,000 Kuna to Dragica Stengl, the wife of former Mayor of Vukovar Vladimir Stengl, as compensation for the psychological suffering caused by an article published on the web-site.

Županijski sud Vukovarske županije presudio je da je Damir Fintić, administrator internet stranice vukovarac.net, dužan platiti otštetu od 71.000 kuna Dragici Štengle, supruzi bivšeg vukovarskoga gradonačelnika Vladimira Štengla, kako kompenzacija za nanesenu duševnu bol.

Centres for Civil Initiatives (CCI) express their concern over the current policies applied by the Steering Board of RTVBiH (the Public Broadcasting Service) that threatens to destroy the service as independent, politically neutral provider to all citizens that pay the broadcasting fee.
