The European Movement in Serbia, in cooperation with other European Movements in the Western Balkans and the International European Movement, protested the announced rise in visa fees for the citizens of the Western Balkans, to be decided at the April 27 meeting of the European Council for Justice and Internal Affairs, in Luxemburg.

The Coca-Cola company came under attack at its shareholder meeting for not disclosing the full extent of the liabilities the company has incurred in India. US based organisation India Resource Centre said various studies by government and independent agencies have confirmed community concerns of over-extraction of water and pollution by the company in India.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh agreed to four of the six demands of the Bhopal gas victims after which the activists called off their international hunger strike. The demands that have been met include cleaning up toxic wastes, setting up a national commission for medical and economic rehabilitation and providing clean water.

Vlada Kosova usvojila je 13. aprila nacrt Rezolucije o pravima manjina, u kojoj se potvrdjuje opredeljenje kosovskih institucija da poštuju prava svih gradjana Kosova. Nacrt će biti upućen parlamentu na usvajanje, rekla je Ulpiana Lama, portparolka Vlade.

The Constitutional Court of Macedonia decided that the Members of Parliament will retire in accordance with the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, just like all the other citizens of Macedonia, and annulled a series of provisions from the Law on Members of Parliament Benefits and Privileges that it determined unconstitutional.

The Government of Kosovo, in its regular session held yesterday, April 13, adopted the Draft-Resolution on Minority Rights, reaffirming the institutions position to respect the rights of all citizens of Kosovo. The Draft will be now forwarded to the Kosovo Parliament, to be adopted in the coming sessions, announced Ulpiana Lama, Government Spokesperson.

The Belgrade Minority Rights Centre protested the Courts lenience towards the thugs that attacked Roma. The Municipal Misdemeanor Court in Nis decided to fine the group of skinheads that attacked the Roma settlement on February 24 with 10,000 Dinars, while the victims of the attacked were fined to 15,000 Dinars.
