Imprese: responsabilit� sociale mancata con l'Ocse

22.09.2005 A cinque anni dalle "Linee-guida" dell'Ocse per la responsabilit� delle imprese multinazionali", una coalizione di Ong ne denuncia il fallimento. Le Ong lanciano un appello affinch� siano approvati degli standard sociali e ambientali, non pi� volontari ma giuridicamente vincolanti per le imprese, al fine di mettere fine agli abusi, in particolare nei Paesi in via di sviluppo. Il fallimento coinvolge anche i governi nazionali, cui spetta il compito di dare concreta attuazione alle raccomandazioni delle linee-guida Ocse. Intanto la Provincia di Roma ha presentato il progetto di marchio "Impresa etica" da assegnare a tutte quelle imprese che dimostreranno di essere "socialmente responsabili" sulla base di 9 'indicatori etici'.

Hunger Strikes Mount in Guantanamo Prison Camp

21.09.2005 Anywhere from 75-200 Guantanamo Bay detainees have re-started a hunger strike over their continued detention and uncertain futures. Fifteen have been hospitalized, 13 are being fed through tubes, and the number of strikers is reportedly rising.

14.09.2005 Media coverage of Hurricane Katrina has drowned out what may be two of the most consequential human rights court decisions in recent U.S. history: rulings that George W. Bush has the authority to indefinitely detain Jose Padilla, a Chicago native arrested in the United States and dubbed an "enemy combatant," and recent appeals to bring Guantanamo Bay cases to the civilian courts.

13.09.2005 Komisija za utvrdjivanje konflikta interesa na cetrnaestoj sjednici odrzanoj 9. septembra ove godine u Plavu, razmatrala je zahtjeve pojedinih javnih funkcionera i donijela odgovarajuca misljenja. Komisija je dala pozitivnu ocjenu o unosu podataka o imovnom stanju javnih funkcionera na internet sajtu i pozvala one funkcionere koji nijesu jos uvijek predali izvjestaj o prihodima i imovini, da to urade odmah kako se ne bi primjenjivale sankcije iz Zakona.
