The participants of the Media in Crisis Situations round table discussion, held yesterday, February 28, in Belgrade, demand from the President and Prime Minister of Serbia to condemn officially the violence in Serbia and to take all legal measures and activities to provide for the security and rights of citizens, as well as unimpeded work of the media.

Centar za razvoj civilnog drustva CRCD poziva medije u Srbiji da obrate pažnju na događaje koji doprinose smanjivanju broja incidenata čije su žrtve pripadnici manjina, kao što je nedavna poseta Petra Lađevića, direktora Službe za ljudska i manjinska prava Vlade Srbije, Zrenjaninu (23. februar) tokom koje se susreo sa etničkim Albancima i Gorancima čiji su objekti bili predmet napada prethodnih dana.

Sanjin Bužo, member of OWPSEE team and experienced human rights and social justice activists in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Southeast Europe, was arrested during the protests last Wednesday, February 13, in front of the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo. Provoked by diverse interpretations of the information surrounding his arrest, Bužo addressed the media and the general public with a public statement, with the aim to clear up certain muted points and accusations against him. The Vukovar District Court ruled that Damir Fintic, administrator of the vukovarac.net web-site, shall pay an amount of 71,000 Kuna to Dragica Stengl, the wife of former Mayor of Vukovar Vladimir Stengl, as compensation for the psychological suffering caused by an article published on the web-site.

Županijski sud Vukovarske županije presudio je da je Damir Fintić, administrator internet stranice vukovarac.net, dužan platiti otštetu od 71.000 kuna Dragici Štengle, supruzi bivšeg vukovarskoga gradonačelnika Vladimira Štengla, kako kompenzacija za nanesenu duševnu bol.
