29.05.2006 A regional network of free-lance journalists of Bulgaria and the former Yugoslav republics was established in Belgrade, at the regional meeting organized by the International Federation of Journalists IFJ and the Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS).

29.05.2006 The OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro is alarmed by recent activities of the Republican Broadcasting Agency (RBA) Council. While the OSCE acknowledges the fact that an independent regulatory body should be entrusted with the authority to allocate broadcasting licences, it calls on the Council to respect national law and international standards, as well as decisions of judicial bodies such as the Supreme Court.

25.05.2006 Društvo sudija Srbije optužilo je članove Saveta Republičke radiodifuzne agencije (RRA) da omalovažavaju odluke Vrhovnog suda Srbije i prete sudijama te najviše sudske institucije, nadležne za odlučivanje o zakonitosti postupanja Saveta RRA i njegovih odluka.

25.05.2006 The media campaign for the Montenegro Referendum was conducted correctly, but in the field work of the activists a number of inadequate actions were registered that could qualify as pressure on the voters, states the CEMI Centre for Monitoring in its Final Report on the Monitoring of Referendum Process. The Report provides a global evaluation of the overall referendum campaign, the work of the referendum bodies, as well as the conduct of the actual ballot day and the atmosphere after the results were announced.

25.05.2006 Medijska organizacija jugoistočne Evrope (SEEMO), mreža urednika, medijskih funkcionera i vodećih novinara iz jugoistočne Evrope sa sjedištem u Beču je užasnuta zatvorskom kaznom na koju je osuđen novinar iz Kumanova, Makedonija. SEEMO je uputio oštro javno pismo najvišim institucijama vlasti u Makedoniji kojim se osuđuje ovakva kazna.

24.05.2006 The Vienna-based South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO), a network of editors, media executives and leading journalists from South East Europe and an affiliate of the International Press Institute (IPI), is outraged by a prison sentence handed to a journalist in Kumanovo, Republic of Macedonia – FYROM. SEEMO sent a strong public letter condemning the sentence to the highest offices of power in the Republic of Macedonia.

18.05.2006 Javën e kaluar, e përditshmja “Vecernji List” publikoi një artikull për arrestimet e fundit të të dyshuarve për disa grabitje me armë dhe vrasje, i cili jep një pamje interesante të motivive të brutalitetit të tyre. Të dyshuarit, të gjithë bartës positive të HIV, fakt i cili sipas gazettes, i bën ata të pandjeshëm ndaj humanizmit dhe vlerave humane të jetës, për shkak të vdekjes së tyre të pashmangshme. Një koment i tillë shkaktoi një reaksion të ftortë tek Shoqata Kroate për HIV(ShKHIV).

18.05.2006 Iniciativa e të Rinjve për të Drejtat e Njeriut - YIHR ka ngritur një aktpadi kundër gazetës së përditshme Kurir, me akuza për gjuhë të urrejtjes të përdorur në artikullin "Adhuruesit e Futbollit të Prishtinës Mbajnë Flamurin 'Serbia si Nokia, Çdoherë më e Vogël e më e Vogël'".

17.05.2006 The Youth Initiative for Human Rights filed a lawsuit against the Kurir daily newspaper, on charges of hate-speech used in the article "Pristina Football Fans Carry a Banner 'Serbia Like Nokia, Ever Smaller and Smaller'".

17.05.2006 Last week, "Vecernji list" daily published an article on the recently arrested suspects of several armed robberies and brutal murders, which gives an interesting view of the motives of their brutality. The suspects are, namely, all HIV positive, a fact which, according to the daily, makes them insensitive to humanity and the value of human life, because of their iminent death. Such a comment provoked strong reaction from the Croatian Association for HIV (CAHIV).
