07.02.2008 The fire that started on the Turkish ship Und Adriyatica yesterday morning, some 15 miles east off Rovinj, still burns, although it has lost much of its power. Experts estimate that there is little chance for explosion that could sink the ship. No pollution was released into the sea, so far.

Remorkeri gase pozar na brodu blizu istarske obale
07.02.2008 Požar koji je u srijedu rano ujutro buknuo na turskom brodu Und Adryaticu, 15 milja zapadno od Rovinja, još gori, iako je manji. Požar na turskom brodu polako jenjava. Stručnjaci su procijenili kako je vrlo mala mogućnost da dođe do eksplozije i potonuća broda. More zasad nije onečišćeno.

The visit, that will cover Saranda and “Butrint” National Park, is a part of the journey that touched other Mediterranean countries (France, Spain, Tunisia, Algeria, Italy, Greece, Albania and Croazia), to promote marine and coastal parks and raise citizens’ awareness on the need to protect a crucial resource for millions of people, the Mediterranean Sea.

10.07.2006 A great international protest against the planned construction of two LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) terminals near Trieste were held on July 1 in this North Adriatic city. The two terminals are to be located in the open sea, near the sear boundary with Slovenia, while the other will be built inland.

28.11.2005 Udruga Eko Kvarner na osnovu do sada prikupljenih podataka od međunarodnih instituta i ruskih nevladinih organizacija može potvrditi vijest o odustajanju ruskih naftnih kompanija od otvaranja novog transportnog pravca kroz Jadran putem realizacije projekta “Družba Adria”. Smatramo da je na to odluku ključno utjecala predstojeća izgradnja naftovoda dužine 4.000 km prema Pacifiku, o čemu je prilikom nedavnog posjeta predsjednika Putina Japanu postignut konačan dogovor.

24.11.2005 Although Prime Minister Berisha declared publicly that the Government has given up on the plans to built Oil Refinery in Vlora, the environmentalists gathered in the Citizens Alliance (CA) for Protection of the Bay of Vlora organized protests at the ‘Flamurtari’ sports hall, on Monday, October 21. The protest rally was organized under the slogan “Vlora in danger, lets save it”.
