Anketata sprovedena od Nacionalniot Romski Centar (NRC) od Kumanovo, pokažuva deka skoro polovina od anketiranite Romki živeat vo vonbračni zaednici, dodeka edna od deset ženi ne posuduva lična karta i potvrda za državjanstvo, što znači deka nivnite deca ne se zapišani vo matičnata kniga na rodeni.

In a letter sent to the Constitutional Commission and representatives of the international civilian administration in Kosovo, Roma NGOs ask for substantial improvements of the draft constitution which has been prepared by the Constitutional Commission on the basis of the provisions included in the proposal of the UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari for the Kosovo status settlements and is currently under discussion.

A report prepared by RNGO Roma 2002 will show if Macedonia will again be placed in the lower ranks of countries in terms of implementation of the Roma Inclusion Decade, or if the country has made progress into the ranks of the countries that pay more attention to these policies.

The Centre for Peace Studies from Zagreb currently implements the project for support and assistance to socially excluded people in Western Slavonia, mostly returnees that left the area in 1995.

The Vojvodina Executive Council earmarked 2.1 million Dinars in scholarships for 355 Roma secondary school students who will received 48 EUR months for the 10 months of the school year. The Council also secured honoraria for the 98 tutors selected to assist and direct the education of the scholarship recipients.

According to information provided by the Roma and Ashkali Centre in Pristina Roma have started to leave Kosovo fearing an outbreak of new violence. During their field visits to the Serbian enclave of Gracanica nearby Pristina, the NGO found that at least seven families with 38 have already left.

The Lobby Group for Roma Education proposes a programme with defined global and priority educational needs of the Roma population. The Group, working under the auspices of the Roma 2002 Coordination of Roma NGOs, advocates advanced sustainable projects that will contribute to realization of operational action plans of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015.

The Roma in Europe: All Different All Equal is the motto of teh Roma Youth Festival that opened yesterday in Ohrid. The Festival, with particiaption of 60 Roma youths from 15 countries, is organized by the European Roma Youth Forum, under the patronage of the Human Rights Commissioner of teh Council of Europe.

Over 100 Roma from Serbia have illegally crossed into Romania this week and submitted requests for asylum. They claim to have been subjected to injustice and attacks in Serbia. Some of them claim they have been beaten by the Police or by Serbs.

The Centre for Peace Studies (CMS) greeted yesterday, June 11, 2007, the final Draft-Law on Asylum that just entered parliamentary procedure. The draft does, in their opinion, is largely harmonized to EU policies and improves the asylum procedure in Croatia. The draft, however, has a number of defects and omissions.
