28.06.2006 The Humanitarian Law Centre presented its Transitional Justice Report for Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo 1999-2005. In her presentation of the Report, Natasa Kandic, the Centre Director said that Serbia failed to create responsible institutions, which is the main condition for the country “...to face the past and give justice”.

27.06.2006 The Acting Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Jens Modvig, marked the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture today by calling for rehabilitation resources to be made available to torture victims and their families.

21.06.2006 Organizata Jo-qeveritare “Çohu”, ka organizuar dje një konferencë me titull “Korrupsioni në Kosovë dhe ballafaqimi me të”, në të cilën është thënë se korrupsioni është i pranishëm, por nuk ka ndonjë strategji konkrete për ta luftuar atë në mënyrë të vazhdueshme, dhe përveç fjalëve, të rralla janë rastet kur është dhënë përgjegjësi ose është dënuar dikush.

20.06.2006 On the occasion of recent demonstration of hate-speech in Serbian Skupstina (the parliament), when Zoran Krasic, MP from the Serb Radical Party, called Ivana Dulic-Markovic, Minister of Agriculture, an "ustasha" from the pulpit, a group of eight NGOs printed a leaflet to remind the public about previous cases of Radicals' involvement in similar incidents.

12.06.2006 Na sjednici Hrvatskog sabora u petak 9. 6. usvojen je Zakon o izmjenama i dopunama Kaznenog zakona koji uključuje i amandmane Odbora za ljudska prava i prava nacionalnih manjina kojima se u taj zakon uvodi definicija zločina iz mržnje, a kazneno djelo ubojstva počinjeno iz mržnje kvalificira kao teško ubojstvo.

09.06.2006 As reported by the media, the Members of the Sabor (Croatian parliament) from the national minorities could revoke their support fot he changes and amendments in the Criminal Code proposed by the Government, if hate-crimes are not included in the text of proposed amendments.

09.06.2006 The Humanitarian Law Centre filed criminal charges against the anonymous author and performer of the song titled “Let’s Cut Some Throats”, on charges of inciting of racial, religious and national hatred and intolerance.

08.06.2006 Kako je početkom ovog tjedna objavio dnevnik Jutarnji list, zastupnici nacionalnih manjina u Hrvatskom saboru mogli bi uskratiti podršku izmjenama Kaznenog zakona koje predlaže Vlada ukoliko se u njega ne unese termin zločina iz mržnje.

08.06.2006 Fond za humanitarno pravo podneo je krivičnu prijavu protiv N.N. lica, autora i izvodjača pesme "Da koljemo", zbog dela izazivanje rasne, verske i nacionalne mržnje i netrpeljivosti.

08.06.2006 Povodom loše sigurnosne situacije u zadarskom zaleđu, kršenja ljudskih prava i etnički motiviranih napada na Srbe povratnike Srpski demokratski forum u nedjelju se obratio javnosti s apelom za aktivnije uključenje svih mjerodavnih državnih institucija, medija, domaćih i međunarodnih organizacija u izgradnju kvalitetnijih odnosa i jačanju boljih međunacionalnih i dobrosusjedskih odnosa.

08.06.2006 The Council for the Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms has called upon the authorities to provide greater transparency with regard to the administration of these institutions as well as the right to monitor the human rights situation of persons deprived of their freedom. Up to now, these requests have not been considered (despite the fact, that a number of international organizations, which operate in Kosova, have been granted such a right).

02.06.2006 On 24 May 2006, after having received information from the administration of the Detention Center in Mitrovica (hereinafter DCM) about a hunger strike in their facility, the representatives of the Ombudsperson Institution met with the Director of the DCM, located in the northern part of Mitrovica, where they received first hand information about the reasons for which eleven detainees and prisoners of Serbian ethnicity started their hunger strike.
